Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

Our commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) is vital to improving health and makes us a stronger organization and community partner.

The diverse insights and experiences of our associates allow us to relate to and connect with people from all backgrounds. Combined with an inclusive environment where all ideas are welcome, a strong DEI strategy propels the innovative healthcare solutions we seek.

Our DEI framework focuses on four key areas: Talent, Work Environment, Community, and Health

Talent

We cultivate a diverse and inclusive workforce that reimagines healthcare solutions and experiences for all people.

To support our commitment to hiring a diverse workforce, we partner with external organizations, colleges and universities, our nine internal business resource groups (BRGs), and other internal associates to recruit, retain, and develop top talent.

The Elevance Health Board is highly diverse in terms of background, expertise, race and ethnicity, age, and gender. We believe that having leaders and decision makers who represent the breadth of our communities is important for the company’s success."

Elizabeth E. Tallett, Independent Chair of the Board, Elevance Health

Work Environment

Elevance Health fosters an environment of openness and values ongoing growth and learning. Associates across our organization, including leaders, participate in at least one of our nine business resource groups (BRGs). Our BRGs engage our workforce and offer members the opportunity to learn from others, develop leadership skills, help drive community health initiatives, and serve as allies who promote inclusion and collaboration.

Community

We champion innovative, sustainable, and equitable solutions to issues that influence the health of our communities.

We do this through our actions as a health company and an employer and through the Elevance Health Foundation. We proudly support associate engagement and match contributions to qualified charitable organizations.

Health

We’re invested in the health and well-being of the communities in which we live and work. We take a "health equity by design" approach in all that we do: our workforce, partnerships, products, policies, practices, and relationships.
