Community Outreach
At Anthem, Inc., our caring culture and our commitment to social responsibility are reflected in the extraordinary generosity of our associates.
Year-round, Anthem associates give generously to nonprofit organizations across the country through our Associate Giving Program. A 50 percent match from the Anthem Foundation increases the impact of these gifts. In 2013, associates nationwide gave about $4.5 million through the program. Paired with the Anthem Foundation match, that total was raised to $6.8 million.
Anthem, Inc.’s Associate Volunteer Programs support and augment our associates’ desire to get involved in their communities. We offer a volunteer time off benefit, providing associates up to eight hours of paid time per calendar year that can be used to volunteer at a qualified 501(c)(3) charity of their choice. Through Dollars for Doers, associate volunteer hours may also qualify the nonprofit to earn a grant from the Anthem Foundation.
Through the Anthem Cares Fund, Anthem, Inc. associates can apply for or offer financial support from colleagues during natural disasters or times of personal hardship.
